Custom work
Have an idea in mind? I would love to help bring it to life.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation.
While I often create from my own inspiration, I also greatly enjoy bringing someone else’s idea to life through leather. Whether you already have a clear vision or only a rough concept, we can explore the possibilities together and shape it into something personal and unique.
I create both functional and decorative work, ranging from horse tack and accessories to artistic and one-of-a-kind pieces.
How the process works
1. Getting in touch
Send me an email, and tell me about your idea, intended use, style preferences, or any inspiration you may have. Reference images or sketches are always welcome, but not required. If you don’t have a clear picture in mind yet, no worries, we can work it out together! You can also check out my portfolio for inspiration.
2. Shape the project
Together we discuss materials, techniques, colours, and design options. Depending on the project, I may suggest ideas or alternatives to create the strongest and most suitable result. If you want to come by to see some of the work I have, feel the leather, see the colors, this can be arranged.
3. Timeline and pricing
I believe in transparancy about my expected timelines and fair pricing. Depending on current projects and availability, I will share how long I expect the project to take, and when I expect to start. I will also share the price prior to starting.
Of course small projects can be completed relatively fast, while larger projects sometimes require more detailed planning.
4. Crafting your piece
Leatherwork is a handcrafted process that takes time and care. During the making process, I share regular progress updates so you can follow your piece as it comes to life.
5. Completion and Delivery
When the work is completed, we can arrange delivery. You can either pick it up, or I can ship it carefully packaged. Shipping costs are for the customer.
FAQ
Every commissioned piece is made specifically for the customer and is often personalized. Because of this, I cannot accept returns of custom-made work.
If there is a problem with your piece, or if something is not as expected, please contact me. I am always willing to discuss possible solutions, repairs, or adjustments.
In cases where changes are requested beyond the original agreed design or scope, additional costs may apply. Any such costs will always be discussed beforehand.
This depends on the complexity of the project and my current workload. Before starting, I will provide an estimated timeline and keep you informed throughout the process.
Depending on the phase of the work, small adjustments are often possible while a project is still in progress. However, significant design changes may affect the timeline and price. If this happens, I will discuss the available options with you before proceeding.
